I was once a very silent girl …… I know silent doesn’t sound good with a girl. But that was what I was …… I don’t mean that I was an introvert, I liked to talk, interact and mingle with others. But somehow I didn’t find people according to my liking with whom u can interact.I like many others , had a strong sense of right and wrong and was always examining people through that lens. I took pride in being always right but then, life has a way of teaching you. For me, people or circumstances were always right or wrong, or it was either black or white. But over the years, life taught me that black and white do exist but more as shades of grey than as pure colour.Everyone makes choices according to what we think is right .As many of us have learned, I have learned too, that what is right from our perspective may not be from others.
So I try to think about others perspectives too.But let me tell you that it’s not easy. The struggle to survive makes you choose yourself over others. But I do try and I think if everyone starts doing this, life would be little more easy and wonderful to live .Sometimes listening to someone, trying to understand what he/she is undergoing not only helps them but it also helps us understand ourselves.
We all have friends whom we value, not because they are always able to solve our problems but because they are always there to listen. I always pay my gratitude to God daily for these people, who were there when I needed them, even when I did not ask.
Let’s promise ourselves that we will try to listen when someone comes to you during their low times. It doesn’t mean that we encourage negativity around us rather it simply means being a little more approachable to someone who needs us.
